I have used Outlook on my workplace for more than 12 years (on Windows and Macs) without a single glitch until El Capitan brakes it.

Mail is just a little more than a joke compared to Outlook. I have tried many others just to see how they perform and always came back to Outlook for its robustness and capability. Does it mean Macs are/should not be used for serious office works? Please dont say that Mail or other mail clients are better than Outlook. Claiming that Outlook is used by very few people is wrong. Yes, many people do not use mail clients on Macs but those who do, mostly use Outlook. The proportion or ratio really does not matter. Mail.app is a capable, but not great, mail client.

You realize that you're posting to an OS X thread right? The proportion of Outlook users on Mac OS X is much lower than on windows. Nearly everyone on my family and my friends circle uses outlook mail client. It is more optimized than Yosemite, and the only problem with Office 2016 was Outlook, which most people do not use. El Capitan, even 10.11, was better than any version of Yosemite. No, because all software has some issues that need to be ironed out. Meanwhile, I had to switch to Nisus Writer Pro because my job requires saving links to files in PDFs. And everyone points fingers: Microsoft blames Apple and Adobe Apple points out that everyone else can save links into PDFs so its not them, and Adobe blames the world for everything. But Word, for 15 freaking years, cannot save a link to a document in a PDF. This reminds me of that very, very annoying bug in Word: If you insert a hyperlink to a document on your disk, and then save it to a PDF, the link is destroyed. And its not like Apple doesn't know about Microsoft if it was going to break Office and it was Apple's fault, surely that would be straightened out in Beta? Surely they should have been able to know immediately that El Capitan would break stuff.

I mean, the only reason for an OS update to break things is either the API's broke somehow (and if so, it would seem that more than just Microsoft would be affected), or Microsoft is relying on private code.īut Microsoft has got to have one of the biggest OS X programming teams around (and why can't they use Cocoa like everyone else?). What are they doing that would cause that? The thing I can never understand is why on earth Microsoft stuff breaks with a new OS.
